Obituary of Henry Lawrence Sanderson Sr ~ 1984

Magnolia - Mr. Henry Lawrence Sanderson Sr., age 82, of Route 1, Magnolia, 
died Monday afternoon in Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville after a 
lingering illness.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Dobson Chapel Baptist 
Church conducted by the Rev. Ed Johnson and the Rev. J.W. Johnson. 
Burial will follow in the Golden Grove Cemetery in Kenansville.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Isabelle Wood Sanderson; one daughter, 
Mrs. LeMar (Eva) Ketelsleger of Kenansville; one son, H.L. Sanderson Jr. 
of Wallace; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Futreal of Chinquapin and Mrs. Dorothy 
Lewis of Ocala, Fla.; one brother, H.J. Sanderson of Hampton, Va., 12 
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Sanderson was the son of the late William 
Albert and Eula Batts Sanderson.
He was a retired farmer, a member of the Community Hunting Club and a 
member of the Dobson Chapel Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Larry Sanderson, John Kilpatrick, Steve Kilpatrick, 
Billy Kilpatrick, Roy Sanderson and Allen Earl Rivenbark.
Honorary bearers will be the deacons of the Dobson Chapel Baptist Church.
The family will receive from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Edgerton 
Funeral Home in Wallace and will be at their residence, Route 1, Magnolia 
other times.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 1 p.m. Wednesday, when it 
will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the service.
