Obituary of Haywood William Cottle ~ 1991

Wallace - Mr. Haywood William Cottle, age 71, of 534 West Main Street in
Wallace, died early Tuesday morning, Oct. 22, at Pender Memorial Hospital
in Burgaw after a lengthy illness.
Funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, from the
Transfiguration Catholic Church conducted by Father John J. Harper,
Father Cassimier Sabol and Elder Wesley Houston.
Burial will follow in the Parker Family Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kathleen Parker Cottle; two daughters,
Mrs. Wade (Cecelia) Houston of Apex and Mrs. David (Sharon) Hall Jr. of
Wallace; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Crain of Greenville, S.C., and Mrs. Mammie
Holloman of Savannah, Ga.; one brother, Jesse Franklin Cottle of Wallace;
and three grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Cottle was the son of the late Jesse Wright
and Nancy Catherine Hunter Cottle, and was a retired manager of the
Wallace ABC store. He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the U.S.
Army, and was a member of the Transfiguration Catholic Church in Wallace.
Casketbearers will be Jason William Sheffield, Shawn Parker, William
English, Douglas Anderson, Chris Cottle and Joe Cowan.
Honorary bearers will be Frank William Fincannon, Mike Pistner, Zara
Ezzell and Huey Ezzell.
The family will receive at the Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace from 7:30
to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and will be at the residence of Mrs. Pearl Cottle,
253 Sloan Street in Wallace, at other times.
