Obituary of Gertrude Lanier ~ 1960

Chinquapin - Mrs. Gertrude Lanier, 64, of Lyman, died Saturday morning at 
her home after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Bethel 
Presbyterian Church by the Reverend Reid Erwin. Interment will be in the 
Lanier family cemetery, near the home.
Survivors include her husband, D. M. Lanier, four daughters, Mrs. K. C. 
Lanier and Mrs. Dolly Pierce of Jacksonville, N. C. Mrs. Cliff Russ of 
Wilmington and Mrs. Hugh Hunter of Lyman. A son, O. Q. Lanier of Lyman, 
four sisters, Mrs. Cecil Brown of Wallace; Mrs. Ellis Hatcher, Mrs. Arthur 
Sloane and Mrs. Bessie Bradham, all of Chinquapin; Five brothers, Zeb 
Lanier of Baltimore, Md., John Edward Lanier, of Burgaw, Charlie Lanier, 
of Harrells, Jimmy Lanier of Beulaville and Jody Lanier of Chinquapin. 
Ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
