Obituary of Emma Platt Moore Rooks ~ 1973

Castle Hayne -- Mrs. Emma Moore Rooks, 58, died Saturday morning in New 
Hanover Memorial Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Henry Platt Moore and Nora Mills Moore. 
She was a member of the Watha Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p. m. from the Watha Methodist 
Church with the Rev. Travis Owens and the Rev. A. C. Wheeler officiating. 
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements by the 
Quinn-McGowan Funeral Home of Burgaw.
Surviving are her husband, Leon Frederick Rooks Sr., of the home; a 
daughter, Mrs. G. (Betty) Humbles Hayne three sons, Leon Frederick Rooks 
Jr. of Wilmington, Billy Platt Rooks and Randy Dwight Rooks, both of 
Castle Hayne; seven brothers, Gene A. Mills of Charlotte, Julian C. 
Mills of Willard, Robert G. Mills of Jacksonville, Fla., Jerry L. Mills, 
Milton A. Mills, Harry N. Mills, Kenneth W. Mills, all of Watha; twelve 
grandchildren.
The family will be at the Quinn-McGowan Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p. m. 
Sunday to receive friends and visitors.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 1 p. m. Monday when it 
will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
