Obituary of Eldred Ray Evans Wells ~ 2005

Eldred Evans Wells, 83, died Friday Jan. 28, 2005, at Village of Brookwood
in Burlington.
Mrs. Wells was a graduate of East Carolina Teachers College, taught home
economics at Contentnea School and was a longtime member of the First
Baptist Church in Kinston where she served as a Sunday school teacher and
on various committees in the church.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday January 31 at the First
Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Hodge and Rev. Chuck Towrey officiating.
There will be a family burial at Pinelawn Memorial Park at 2 p.m. prior
to the service. There will be a visitation following the memorial service
in the church parlor.
Eldred is survived by her daughters, Jane Wells Harrison of Lenoir and
Susan Wells Serrano and husband, Jorge, of Burlington; grandchildren,
Adam Taylor Duke of Arlington, Va., Meredith Leigh Duke of Asheville and
Sara Beth Puckett of Burlington; brothers Stacy J. Evans of Greenville,
Edwin M. Evans of Wilmington, Wendell O. Evans of Magnolia, Harold Evans
of Wallace, John V. Evans of Mt. Olive and C. Darwin Evans of Mt. Olive.
Her husband John Meredith Wells preceded her in death in 1989.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice &
