Obituary of Elbert Anderson ~ 1944

Funeral services for Elbert Anderson, 44, of Watha, employee of the
Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, who died at James Walker Memorial hospital
Monday at 7:30 p. m. after a lengthy illness, will be held from the Watha
Methodist church Wednesday at 3 p. m. by the Rev. I. J. Strawbridge,
assisted by A. C. Wheeler and O. C. Thorpe. Interment will follow in Mt.
Holly cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Callie Moore, of Ivanhoe; one son,
Morris Anderson; three daughters, Elaine and Rachel Anderson, of Watha,
and Theresa Anderson, of Wilmington; mother, Mrs. Emma Anderson, of Watha;
four sisters, Mrs. Ned Mills, of Watha, Mrs. Lula Wallace, of Beulahville,
Mrs. R. F. Stroud, of Wallace, Mrs. W. A. Bullard, of Savannah, Ga.; two
brothers, Hughlon and Arthur Anderson, both of Watha.
