Obituary of Dorothy Mae Carter Wells ~ 2005

Dorothy Mae Wells, age 80, of Rocky Point, died Monday, January 31, 2005, 
at Woodbury Wellness Center.
She was born January 29, 1925, in Sampson County, and was the daughter of 
the late Rev. Arby Herring Carter and Bettie Clyde Lockamy Carter. 
She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Evander Wells.
Mrs. Wells was retired after working eight years with Oasis Rest Home.
Surviving are her children, Linda Rivenbark and husband Glenn of Rocky 
Point, Diane Cox and husband Ronnie of Indiana, PA, Kenneth Wells and 
wife Cathy of Maco and David Wells of Louisburg; eight grandchildren; 
twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Crawford of Goldsboro and 
Lois Keene of Dunn; and brothers, James Carter of Wallace, Herbert 
Carter of Dunn and J.D. Carter of California.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral 
Home of Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Morton officiating.
Burial will follow in Zoar PFWB Church Cemetery, Salemburg.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at 
Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of 
William Rivenbark in Rocky Point.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of 
Woodbury Wellness Center for the loving care that was given to Dorothy.
