Obituary of David Hatch Lanier ~ 1953

Dave Hatch Lanier, 73, died at his home Wednesday morning in the Cypress 
Creek community near Beulaville after several months of declining health. 
Funeral services were held from the Lanier's Chapel Free Will Baptist 
Church near the home at 3:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon conducted by the 
Rev. P. T. Ellis, pastor, assisted by the Rev. J. D. Vernelson.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ludie A. Lanier; four sons, Eli of Sneads 
Ferry, Winfred and Cicero of Beulaville, and Leonard of Chinquapin; four 
daughters, Mrs. Roe Maready, Mrs. Woodrow Batts and Mrs. Leslie Lanier , 
all of Chinquapin and Mrs. Troy Dail of Newport News, Va.; four brothers, 
Council and Roe Lanier of Chinquapin, Cyrus of Warsaw and Lark of Rose 
Hill; one sister, Mrs. J. H. Dail of Chinquapin. Also a large number of 
nephews, nieces and grandchildren.
