Obituary of Charlie Herbert Carter ~ 1973

Funeral services for Charlie Herbert Carter, 68, of Warsaw, who died 
Sunday, were held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Community Funeral Chapel by 
the Revs. Ray Brown and H. T. Baumgardner. 
Burial was in the Carter family cemetery.
Surviving: his widow, Mrs. Pearl D. Carter; five daughters, Mrs. Gladys 
Watkins of Turkey, Mrs. Vivian Norris of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Edna Belle 
Murphy of Pink Hill, Mrs. Inex Lane and Mrs. Vernell Grady of Warsaw; four 
sons, Charlie H. Jr. of Pink Hill, William Edward, Linwood Eugene and 
James E. of Kenansville; a sister, Mrs. Dora Whaley of Kenansville; two 
brothers, Johnny of Richlands and Henry Carter of Bowden; five half 
sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Carter of Plymouth, Mrs. Lottie Holland of Faison, 
Mrs. Swannie Holland of Turkey, Mrs. Adell Straughan of Wilmington and 
Mrs. Mable Anne Tyndell of Baltimore, Md.; three half brothers, A. C. Jr. 
of Warsaw, Mack and Lonnie Carter of Baltimore, Md.; 27 grandchildren; 
two great-grandchildren.
