Funeral Rites For Carmer Cavenaugh Held Wednesday 

Carmer Cavenaugh, 64, died at the home of his son in Wilmington Tuesday 
morning. He was a member of Chinquapin Baptist Church. Funeral services 
were held from Chinquapin Baptist Church at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in charge 
of the Rev. Vann Murrell of Chinquapin, assisted by the Rev. E. L. Pate of 
Wilmington. Burial followed in the Chinquapin Cemetery. 
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sudie Cavenaugh of the home; four sons, 
Elbert, Clifton and Frank of Wilmington, Dewey of the U. S. Navy; three 
daughters, Mrs. Stacy Lanier of Beulaville, Route 1, Mrs. Harvey Lanier 
of Jacksonville; Two sisters, Mrs. Hebron Wilkins of Chinquapin, Mrs. 
Bessie Landen of Wilmington; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
