Bessie Lee Cavenaugh, age 89, of Wallace, died Monday, March 15, 2004, at 
the Brian Center in Wallace.
She was born September 3, 1914, in Duplin County and was the daughter of 
the late John W. and Kate Teachey Cavenaugh. She was predeceased by her 
husband, Herder Allen Cavenaugh; five brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Cavenaugh was a member of Northeast Pentecostal Free Will Baptist 
Church.
Surviving are her children, Eleanor C. Wells and husband Stan of Kasilof, 
AK, and Stanley O. Cavenaugh and wife June of Wallace; step-daughter, 
Evelyn Winkelman of Missoula, MT, and Annetta Pridgen and husband Aubrey 
of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Tammy Howell and husband Joe, Leon 
Kermit Butler III and wife Chantel, Hogue Cavenaugh and wife Marci, Jason 
Cavenaugh and wife Ramona and Roland West and husband Clayton; step-
grandchildren, Elizabeth Winkelman, Herder Winkelman and wife Lorii, 
Audrey Pridgen-MacLean, Anna Lynn Pridgen, Amy Pridgen and Ailsa 
Squatrito; fourteen great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; 
and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Northeast PFWB Church with 
the Rev. Ray Bodin and the Rev. Willard Hardison officiating.
Burial will follow in Cavenaugh Cemetery, Wallace.
The family will receive friends at the home of Stanley and June Cavenaugh, 
277 Rattle Snake Lane, Wallace.

Wallace, NC 28466.
