Obituary of Bessie Earnestine McKoy Cavenaugh ~ 1978

Wallace - Mrs. Bessie Ernestine McKoy Cavenaugh, 79, of Cape Mae
Courthouse, N.J., formerly of Rt. 2, Wallace, died Monday. Funeral
services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Edgerton Funeral Chapel
conducted by the Rev. Phillip Denton. Burial will follow in Riverview
Memorial Park near Watha.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Arline Rhodes of North Cape Mae, N.J.,
Mrs. Mary Ann Piner of Garner and Mrs. Ernestine Manning of Fredericksburg,
Va.; two step daughters, Mrs. Lillie Bell Batts of Wilmington, and Mrs.
Grace Goldsmith of Ft. Worth, Texas; one son, James Lewis Coates of
Wilmington; one stepson, Lloyd A. Cavenaugh of Richmond, Va.; 11
grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, 21
step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great grandchild.
A Native of Pender County, she was the daughter of the late Luke and Annie
Taylor McKoy. She was the widow of Frank Cavenaugh and was a member of
Sharon Baptist Church in Chinquapin.
Casketbearers will be Joe Rivenbark, Greg Rhodes, Everette Batts, Tom
Manning, James Frank Coates, and Mike Merrill.
The family will be at the Edgerton Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
