Obituary of Berta Blake Cavenaugh ~ 1965

Rose Hill - Mrs. Berta Blake Cavenaugh, 90, died Sunday night at the home 
of her daughter, Mrs. E. L. Lanier, after an extended illness.
A native of Pender County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and 
Harriet Eason Blake. She was the widow of John S. Cavenaugh.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lanier, with whom she made her home, 
and Mrs. C. T. Fussell, both of Rose Hill; a son, Albert J. Cavenaugh of 
Wallace; three sisters, Mrs. W. H. Cavenaugh and Mrs. A. F. Waters, both 
of Rose Hill, and Mrs. D. B. Stanley of Wolf City, Tex.; a brother, H. C. 
Blake of Wilmington; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a. m. in Norman Memorial 
Chapel by the Rev. George Ports, pastor of Wallace Methodist Church, and 
the Rev. Charles Sparks, pastor of Rose Hill Methodist Church. 
Burial will be in Rockfish Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be A. J. Cavenaugh Jr., C. T. Fussell Jr., Aaron Fussell, 
Leo Lanier, Max Sykes and Lewis Blake.
Visitation will be at Norman Funeral Home until the funeral hour.
The family will be at the home of Mrs. Lanier, 108 East Center Street.
