Obituary of Allen Sherwood Futrell ~ 1989

Allen Sherwood Futrell, age 64, of Route 1, Magnolia, died unexpectedly 
Monday afternoon, March 20, in Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, March 22, at 3:00 p.m. from the 
Padgett Funeral Chapel in Wallace conducted by the Rev. Ed L. Johnson. 
Burial followed in Devotional Gardens near Warsaw.
He is survived by his widow, Ruby Faye Rich Futrell; two daughters, Mrs. 
Jimmy (Frances) Whaley of Warsaw and Mrs. Pat (Cathy) Jackson of Rose Hill;
two sons, Wayne Futrell of Magnolia and Glenn Futrell of Wallace; five 
sisters, Myrtle Brown of Rose Hill, Mary Lillie Norris of Chinquapin, 
Evelyn Scheel of Nashville, Tenn., Lena Gerhardstein and Eunice Hazelwood, 
both of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Willie Futrell of Rose Hill; and 
six grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Futrell was the son of the late Richard 
Morton and Myrtle Batts Futrell. He was the retired owner of the Allen 
Futrell Ceramic Tile Co., Magnolia.
