Wallace - Mrs. Alberta "Berta" English Cavenaugh, 87, of Rt. 3, Wallace, 
died Friday, January 13, in Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville after 
a brief illness.
The funeral services will be held today, January 15, at 2 p.m. in the 
Northeast Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. Walter Pierce, 
the Rev. Billy Toler, and the Rev. Tim Crowder. The burial will follow in 
the Cavenaugh Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bill (Patsy) Boyd of Greenville, 
S.C.; four sons, Richard Cavenaugh, Norwood Cavenaugh, and Duncan 
Cavenaugh of Wallace, and Willie Cavenaugh of Kernersville; one sister, 
Mrs. Virginia Sissel of Lumberton; two brothers, Waitus English of 
Hampstead and Johnny Butler English of Ivanhoe; twelve grandchildren and 
thirteen great grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Cavenaugh was the daughter of the Late 
Fennell and Minnie Cavenaugh English. She was the widow of the late Robert 
R. Cavenaugh and a lifelong member of the Northeast Pentecostal Free Will 
Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Forrest Cavenaugh, Butch Cavenaugh, Harry Cavenaugh, 
Floyd Cavenaugh, Russell Cavenaugh, Kenneth Cavenaugh, and Randy Boyd.
The family received at the Padgett Funeral Home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. 
Saturday and will be at their residence, Rt. 3, Wallace, at other times.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 12 noon Sunday when it will 
be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the service.
