Marriage license for George Washington Dunn and Susan Lassiter

Know all men by these presents, that we, George Washington Dunn and John H. Stanley are held and firmly bound unto the state of North Carolina, in the full sum of five hundred pounds, currant money, to be paid to the said State, for the which payment: well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals, and dated this 24th day of January A. D. 1855.
The condition of the above obligation is such, That whereas, the above bounden John H. Stanley, hath made application for a license for marriage, to be celebrated between George W. Dunn and Susan Lassiter, of the county aforesaid: Now, in case it shall not appear heaeafter, that there is any lawful cause or impediment to obstruct the said marriage, then the above obligation to be void; oterwise to remain in full force and virtue.
