Know all men by these presents, that we John Pipkin & James D. Hufham are held
and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina, in the sum of one thousand
dollars, current money, to be paid to the said State of North Carolina; for
the payment whereof, well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves,
our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by
these presents; sealed with our seals, and dated this 20 day of Dec'r A.D.
1852.
The Condition of the above obigation is such, that the above bounden John
Pipkin has made application for a license of marriage, to be celebrated
between him and Ann McNabb of the County aforesaid; now in case it should not
hereafter appear that there is any lawful cause or impediment to obstruct such
marriage, then the above obligation to be void - otherwise to remain in full
force and virtue.
