Betty spent most all her energy being a loving wife and mother. She found
great joy and pride in being a full-time homemaker. She was an amazing
seamstress and excellent cook. She was so humble and selfless, always caring
more for the needs of others than her own. She and her husband enjoyed
traveling together and have visited places all over the world. She valued
family and was very involved in genealogy. She especially looked forward to
seeing her many dear friends at her weekly "playday". Betty will be missed by
all who had the privilege of knowing her and she will live on in the hearts
of her family forever.

From her daughter:
My names is Glenda Grimes Matt. I am the child of Betty Stallone Grimes and
Hugh Russell Grimes. Hugh has ancestry traced back to Duplin, American
Revolutionary Soldiers. I am a member of DAR and my father is a member of
the SAR. We are the family that held an official Grave Marking Ceremony at
Grimes Cemetery which is on the land of Ruth and Dean Cooper near Summerlins
Crossing Crossroad. That being said, My mother, Betty Grimes passed away on
December 22, 2010. I'd like you to include her in your archives for her
tireless efforts to bring the Grimes family together, not only through
unimaginable hours of physical effort in archives combing through the puzzles
that the past holds, to present day technology that includes DNA testing.
