William Savage, Arthur Savage & Martha Perkins To Nicholas Hunter
Deed of 150 acres land
This indenture made the tenth day of June in the eighth year or American Independence
and in the year of ou Lord Christ one thousand and seven hundred and eighty four between William
Savage, Arthur Savage, and Martha Perkins all of the State of North Carolina & County of Duplin
of the one part and Nicholas Hunter of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that for
and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and sixty pounds specie to them in hand well &
truly paid or secured to be paid by Nicholas Hunter aforesaid before the ensealing & delivery
of these the receipt whereof they do acknowledge themselves to be therewith fully satisfied
contented & paid & there fore doth release acquit & discharge the said Nicholas Hunter his
executors administrators & assigns by these presents they the said William Savage Arthur Savage
& Martha Perkins having granted bargained sold aliened & confirmed and by these presents doth
grant bargain sell alien & confirm unto the said Nicholas Hunter and his heirs a certain piece
or parcel of land sittuats lying and being in the County aforesaid and bounded as followeth Viz.
Begining at a large red oak by the Grove Swamp where a former survey was began thence runing
along the old line So. 30 Et. 60 chains to a pine the old corner, thence So. 60 Wt. 25 chains
to a hickory by a small branch thence No. 30 Wt. along John Miller's old line of the marked
trees 60 chains to a red oak by the Grove Swamp called John Miller's old corner tree of a former
survey, thence No. 60 Et. 25 chains to the first station. Being the contents of a deed from Mr.
McCuloch to Francis Savage Senr. deed for one hundred and fifty acres, together with all houses
buildings orchards ways waters water courses prophets commoditied heriditaments & appertenances
whatsoever to the said premises hereby granted or any part thereof belonging or in any wise
appertaining & the reversion & reversions remainder & remainders rents issues & profits thereof
and also all the estate right title interests use trust property claim & demand whatsoever of
them the said William Savage, Arthur Savage & Martha Perkins of in & to the said premises and
all deeds evidences & writings touching or in any wise concerning the same. To have and to hold
the premises hereby granted & conveyed and all & sinqular other the premises hereby bargained
and sold & every part and parcel thereof with their & every of their appertenances unto the
said Nicholas Hunter his heirs & assigns forever to the only proper use & behoof of him the
said Nicholas Hunter & of his heirs & assigns forever & the said William Savage, Arthur Savage
& Martha Perkins for themselves their hiers executors & administrators dothe covenant promise
and grant to & with the said Nicholas Hunter his heirs and assigns by these presents that the
said William Savage Arthur Savage & Martha Perkins now at the time of sealing & delivery of
these presents siezed of a good sure and indefeaseable estate of inheritance in fee simple of
and in the premises hereby bargained & sold & that they have good power and lawfull and absolute
authority to grant & convey the same to the said Nicholas Hunter in manner & form aforesaid &
that the said prmises mow are and to forever hereafter shall remain and be free and clear of
and from all former gifts grants bargains sales dower right & title of dower judgements
incoutions titles troubles charges incumbrances whatsoever made done committed or suffered by
the said William Savage, Arthur Savage & Martha Perkins or any other person or persons whatsoever
the tracez hereafter as they become due and payable to the publick for and in respect to the
premises only excepted and forfrinzed and that the said William Savage, Arthur Savage, & Martha
Perkins 7 their heirs all & singular the premises hereby bargained & sold with the appertenances
unto the said Nicholas Hunter his heirs & assigns against them the said William Savage, Arthur
Savage, & Martha Perkins & their heirs and all and every person and person whatsoever shall
warrant & forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said William Savage, Arthur
Savage & Martha Perkins have hereunto set their hands & seals the day and year first above
written.
