William Wilkins To Lewis Hines Deed 15 January 1784

(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 320, & 321 William Wilkins To Lewis Hines Deed for 200 acres lands This indenture made this fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & eighty four. Between William Wilkins of the State of No. Carolina & County of Duplin of the one part and Lewis Hines of the same County & province as aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of seventy pounds specie money to me William Wilkins in hand paid by Lewis Hines before the ensealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I acknowledge myself to be satisfied & paid every part & parcel thereof therefore have given granted bargained sold & convaid and by these presents do fully and freely absolutely aline convey & confirm unto Lewil Hines his heirs executors administrators & assings forever, one certain tract or parcel of land sittuate lying and being in the County of Duplin on the north side of the No. Begining at a pine on Isaac Hines's line & runing with his line Wt. 178 pole to a pine, thence north 182 pole crossing Toms branch to a small maple in a branch, then Et. 178 poles crossing the great Savannah branch to a pine, thence to the begining, containing two hundred acres. To have and to hold to the said Lewis Hines his heirs executors administrators & assigns, togeather with all the advantages woods ways waters & water courses & as for my part the aforesaid William Wilkins my heirs executors & assigns doth hereby covenant promise and engage unto the said Lewis Hines his heirs executors administrators & assigns that they shall peacebly & quietly hold use occupie & enjoy the aforesaid land and premises with all the appurtenances & previledges to them belonging free and clear of all incumbrance whatsoever and as for me the aforesaid William Wilkins my heirs executors and administrators & assigns will forever warrant & defend the aforesaid land and premises as aforesaid to Lewis Hines his heirs executors administrators & assigns agains the lawfull clame or clames of any person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof set my hand & fixed my seal the day & date first written. William Wilkins Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of us. Isaac Hines Saml.
