William Thomas to Isaac Thomas
Deed 40 acres
This Indenture made this sixth Day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven
hundred & eight eight between William Thomas of Duplin County & State of North Carolina
Planter of the one part and Isaac Thomas of the County and State aforesaid planter of the
other part. Witnesseth that the said William Thomas for and in consideration of the sum
of Forty pounds to him in hand paid by the said Isaac Thomas the Receipt & full payment
whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted Bargained & sold and by these present
doth give grant bargain and sell unto the said Isaac Thomas his heirs and assigns forever
a certain tract or parcel of Land Situate in the County aforesaid on the south side of
Limestone Swamp containing Forty acres be the same Either more or less Begining at a sweet
gum & water oak by the Run of said Swamp about sixty yards above the Road and Runs South
Ten degrees East twenty chain to a pine, Thence South Fifty five west forty two chain to
astake and two pines by the Road in Hicks Mills's line, Thence North Fifty five West along
said line to a pine said Isaac Thomas's corner Thence along his line to the swamp, thence
up the Meanders of the Run to the Begining Including all that part of the one hundred &
FOrty acres of Land Granted to William Thomas Senr. by patent Dated the Twenty seventh day
of October one thousand seven hundred & 67 that Sueth below the said mentioned lines & Bounds
To have and to hold the said Bargained Land and premises unto him the said Isaac Thomas his
heirs and assigns forever together with all other Rights previledged profits & advantages
to the said Land belonging or in any wise appertaining all & singular clear & free from all
manner of incumberances or Demand whatsoever and the said William Thomas will warrent & forever
Defend the said Land & premises unto the said Isaac Thomas his heirs and assigns forever &
the said Isaac Thomas his heirs & assigns shall from Time to Time and at all Times hereafter
forever have hold use occupy possess & Enjoy said Land & premises in his or their own Right &
have full power & Lawfull authority to gibe or in any manner Dispose of the same in Witness
whereof the said William Thomas have hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the Day & Date
above written.
