William & Robert Dickson To Robert Dickson
Deed for 250 acres lands
This indenture made the thirtieth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven and eighty five, & in the ninth year of the American Independence etc. Between William
Dickson & Robert Dickson of the County of Duplin in the State of North Carolina of the one
part and Robert Dickson of the same place on the other part. Witnesseth that the said William
Dickson & Robert Dickson for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds current money to
them in hand well and truly paid by the said Robert Dickson, the receipt whereof they do hereby
acknowledge, and themselves therewith to be fully satisfied contented and paid & of every part
and parcel thereof do acquit and discharge the said Robert Dickson his heirs executors &
administrators forever by these presents they the said William Dickson & Robert Dickson have
given granted & sold to the said Robert Dickson his heirs & assigns forever, all that tract or
parcel of land lying & being in the County Duplin aforesaid on the Wt. side of the No. East
River above the mouth of Island Creek joining the great pocoson at a place calle Louis Island
and joining the west corner of Laughlin Louis land. Begining at a red oak in the head of a
small branch and runs east 200 pole to a pine, thence So. 200 pole to a stake & thence Wt. 200
pole to a stake & thence to the begining, and containing in the whole two hundred and fifty
acres of land, being the contents of a patent granted to the said William Dickson & Robert
Dickson bearing date the 26th day of October in the year of our Lord 1777, reference being
thereunto had may more fully appear etc. all which premises we the said William Dickson &
Robert Dickson by these presents do fully & freely & absolutely give grant bargain & sell &
convey to the said Robert Dickson his heirs & assigns forever & further we do hereby covenant
and engage to & with the said Robert Dickson to warrant secure and defend him in the quiet &
peaceable possession of the above granted premises from and against all manner of claims &
demands whatsoever that can or may be made for the same or any part thereof by from or under
us, or heirs executors admins. or assigns. In witness whereof we the said William Dickson &
Robert Dickson have hereunto set our hand & seals the day & first above written.
