William Rigby & Alexander Dickson To Joseph Dickson

This Indenture made the Twenty Eight day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred
and seventy Eight Between William Rigby and Alexander Dickson Both of the state of north Carolina and County of
Duplin of the one part and Joseph Dickson of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that the said William
Rigby and Alexander Dickson for Divers good causes and consideration them thereunto moving but more Especially
for the consideration of Five pounds Current money of North Carolina to them in hand well and Truly paid by
Joseph Dickson aforesaid the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath by these presents given granted
Bargained Sold and forever to Joseph Dickson aforesaid one certain Tract of parcel of Land Situate lying and
being in the State and County aforesaid. Being part or one third of 640 acres granted by Paten to the said
William Rigby Joseph and Alexander Dickson Bearing Date the 25th of July 1774. Beginning at a pine near snake
Branch the Beginning corner of the Paten and runs thence as the Patten line No. 26 Wt. 102 poles to a pine thence
Wt. 68 poles to a Red oak his and Alexander Dicksons Dividing corner thence So. 32 poles to a pine and Black jack
at the side of the main Road thence So. 15 Wt. 80 poles to a Bay Tree at the Run of John Matchets Thence down
said Branch by various courses to a water oak on Solomon Beeslys Line (which on a straight Line is So. 60 Wt.
42 poles) thence as Solomon Beesly Line So. 39 Et. 84 poles to a black Jack his corner thence as his other Line
So. 51 Wt. 60 poles to a Large pine his corner thence along the Patten Line Line So. 39 Et. 120 poles to a
Lightwood Tree the Patten Corner thence No. 51 Et. 216 poles to a stake thence No. 26 Wt. to the Beginning and
containing in the whole 213 1/3 acres be the same more or less. To have and To hold to him the said Joseph
Dickson his heirs and assigns forever the above bargained Land and premises with all the appurtenances to the
same belonging or in any wise appertaining of every nature or kind whatsoever and the said William Rigby and
Alexander Dickson do by these for them selves their heirs Executors administrators and assigns the above
Bargained Land and premises forever warrant and Defend to him the said Joseph Dickson his heirs and assigns
forever from and against them, the said William Rigby and Alexander Dickson then their heirs Executors
administrators and assigns as also from and against the just and Lawfull Claim of any person or persons
whatsoever who may hereafter Lay any Lawfull Claim to the same and the said Joseph Dickson the above bargained
Land and premises shall and may have hold use occupy Enjoy and possess as his own free and Lawfull Inheritance
free from all former gifts grants Bargains Sales Dower or Right of Dower or any other Incumbrances whatsoever
except the Quit Rents now due or hereafter may become due on the said Land only Excepted and foreprised and the
said William Rigby and Alexander Dickson do by these presents Resign the said Joseph Dickson all their Right
Title Interest Claim to any of the above Bargained Land and premises and the same will Warrant and Defend to
the said Joseph Dickson From and their heirs forever in Witness whereof the said William Rigby and Alexander
Dickson have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
