Deed of gift for Negro Carls

State of North Carolina Duplin County

Know all men by these presents that I Wm Picket Jr of the State and County aforesaid hath 
For the natural love and affection give grant and set over the Right of a said Negro Boy 
slave named Carls in his eleventh year unto Wm J Pickett of the State of Ala Pecke County 
which Negro I the said Wm Pickett Jr do warrent & defend for ever all right title & claims 
or whatever unto the said William J Pickett his heirs and assigns for ever Whereunto I set 
my hand and seal December 18 1839
