William Hunter Senr To Howel Hunter Deed 23 June 1820

Book 7A, p71-2) William Hunter Senr To Howel Hunter Deed 157 acres land This Indenture made the twenty third day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty, between William Hunter Senr of the State of North Carolina & County of Duplin of the one part & Howell Hunter of the same State & County of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said William Hunter Senr. for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Howell Hunter aforesaid before the ensealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, he the said Wm Hunter hath by these presents bargained sold aliened & confirmed unto the said Howel Hunter and to his heirs a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County of Duplin aforesaid, and on the east of the North East River, and on the South side of the road that goes across the N. East at Chinquepin, Beginning at a Red Oak on the river bank, and runs N 60 E, 136 poles to a small pine & Crubley Oak stump; then N 25 E, 116 poles to a pine on the side of a branch; then N 37 E, 75 poles to a main road; then along the center of the road about N 70 W, 53 poles to Wm Hunter Junrs corner,; then as his line along Page 72. the road S 70W, 120 poles to the turn of the road; then as his other line along the road S 29 W, 32 poles to a Water Oak on the river bank; then down the river as it meanders to the beginning, containing in the whole one hundred & sixty acres, (these acres excepted at the landing on the river belonging to the heir of Arthur Gregory dec’d) be the same more or less, all the aforesaid land & tenements with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining of every nature & kind whatsoever, free & clear from the just or lawful claim of all person or persons whatsoever & I the aforesaid Wm Hunter Senr. do warrant the aforesaid lands & tenements to the aforesaid Howel Hunter his heirs or assigns.
