(Transcribed by Diane Siniard) Deed Book E Page 87, 88, & 89 William McGee To Holden McGee Deed of Gift 410 acres This Indenture made the ninetheenth Day of October in the Fifteenth year of American Independence and In the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and ninety. Between William McGee of the State of North Carolina and County of Duplin of the one part and Holden McGee of the same place and son of the said William McGee of the other part Witnesseth that the said William McGee for Divers good causes and considerations him thereunto moving as also for the Love and Regard which he the said William McGee hath and doth bear unto his said son Holdon McGee for his advancement and preferrment in life and other Valuable considerationd Rec'd. hath by these presents given granted bargained sold and Delivered unto his said son Holdon McGee one certain Tract Lot of parcel situate lying and being In Duplin County aforesaid on the South west side of Maxwell swamp joining on the Mill Pond and including the fork of the swamp above the Mill as high as high as Edward Armstrongs line. Begining at a Poplar on the Edge of the mill Pond about sixty yards above the mill House and runs thence South fifty west 150 poles to an Ashe on the run of Armstrongs or Christin Jameses Branch thence up the run of said Branch as it meanders about 280 poles to a Large Poplar and white oak in a fork of said Branch said William McGees uper corner thence his outside line North 55 Est crossing the Goose pond S. 10 poles to a pine thence So. 35 East 18 poles to a pine thence No. 35 East 160 poles to a white oak Thence So. 5 Wt. 6 poles to a pine thence Edward Armstrongs Line a Course nearly South 65 East 88 to a pine thence said Armstrongs line of another survey So. 75 Et. 50 poles to a gum and maple at the Run of Maxwell thence Down the Run as it meanders to the head of the mill pond thence Down the pond to the first station containing In the whole Four hundred and Ten acres be the same more or Less. To have and to hold the said Four hundred and ten acres with all the appertainances to the same belonging on In any wise appertaining to him the said Holdon McGee his heirs and assigns forever free from all former Gifts Grants Mortgages Intails Wills Executions Entents of troubles in Law whtaever and the said Holdon McGee the aforesaid Land and premises shall and may have hold use occupy Enjoy and possess as his own free and Lawfull Inheritance free from Incumberance whatever given granted or done by him the said William McGee or any person whatsoever by from or under him and the said William McGee the aforesaid Land and premises to him the said Holdon McGee shall and will warrant and forever from against him the said William McGee and his heirs or any other person whatever claiming by from & under him In Witness whereof the said William McGee hath hereunto set his hand and seal the Date above written. signed sealed and Delivered William McGee in presence of James Dickson State of No. Carolina Duplin County October Term 1790 Then was the within Deed acknowledged in open Court and ofdered to be Registered.
