(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 103, & 104 William Knight To Henry Erel Deed 50 acres This Indenture made ye 22nd day of March in the twelfth year of American Independency and int he year of our Lord Christ 1788. Between Henry Ezell of the State of North Carolina Duplin County of ye one part and William Knight of the County of Duplin of ye other part Witnesseth that the said William Knight for Divers good causes but more especially for the valuable considerations of thirty pounds specie to him in hand well and truly paid by Henry Ezell aforesaid before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath by these presents given granted bargained sold assigned and set over to the said Henry Ezell one certain part or parcel of Land situate lying and being in Duplin County aforesaid between Stewarts Creek Bridge and the head of the Clear Run begining at a pine on the road thence a Wt. course to a pine at ye branch thence ye branch to be a line to the head of it and Corner at a fore and aft tree Thence an Et. course to the corner. Near the Road thence the begining Containing in ye whole fifty acres ye Same more or less to have and to hold ye aforesaid Land and its premises with all the appertainances to ye same belonging or in any wise appurtaining to him ye said Henry Ezell his heirs and assigns forever free from all former gifts grants Mortgages Intails wills Executions whatever Committed or done by him ye said William Knight or any other person or persons what ever by from or under him the said Henry Ezell the aforesaid Land and premises with all the appertainances to ye same belonging or in any wise appurtaining that Land may have Hold use occupy Enjoy and possess as his own free Lawfull Inheritance and the said William Knight the aforesaid and premises shall and will warrant and forever defend to him the said Henry Ezell his heirs and assigns forever from and against him the said William Knight his heirs and assigns as also from and against ye Just & Lawful Claim of all and Every other person or persons whatever who may hereafter Lay any Lawful Claim to ye same In witness whereof ye said William Knight hath hereunto set his hand and seal ye date above written. signed sealed and delivered William Knight in the presence of us John Evins Jehu Baker George Ezell January Term 1791 State of No. Carolina Duplin County Then was the within deed proved in open Court by the oath of George Ezell and ordered to be registered.
