(Transcribed by Jeanie BLANTON TRIMBLE) WILLIAM BECK TO WILLIAM BROADHURST (Deed 100 Acres) DUPLIN COUNTY NC DEED BOOK L PAGES 11 & 12 To all persons to whom these presents that comes know ye that I William Beck and of Duplin County in the State of No Carolina for and in the consideration of the sum of one hundred and Sixty pounds current money to me in hand paid by William Broadhurst of the state and County aforesaid at and before the Ensealing and to delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and of every part and parcel thereof do Exonerate acquit and discharge the said William Broadhurst his heirs, Executor admin and assignees forever Have given granted bargained Sold Aliened enfeoffed Conveyed and forever Confirmed and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain Sell Alien enfeoffed Convey confirm assign and set over to the said William Broadhurst his heirs and assignees forever one certain plantation part and parcel of lands situated lying and Being in the State and County aforesaid on the South side of Long branch including the place where Thomas MCCanne built on---Beginning at a water oak in the run of the said branch thence up a finale branch south 120 poles to a Blackjack, thence Et 120 poles to a white oak Saplin Thence Et 146 poles to a water oak and whiteoak on the run of Long Branch thence up the same as it meanders to the beginning containing one hundred acres be it more or less To have and to hold the above said bargained premises with all and singular the privileges BOOK L Page 12 profits and advantages thereto belonging or in any way pertaining to the said William Broadhurst heirs executors administrators and assignees forever free and clear from all encumbrances from me my heirs executors administrators the Tax rents Due by law excepted and I the said William Beck do bind myself my heirs Executors and Administrators to warrant the said land and premises to the said William Broadhurst his heirs Executors Administrators and assignees forever against the lawful Claims or Claimants of me my heirs Executors or Administrators and all other Persons whosoever----- In Witness whereof I have here unto Set my hand and affixed my Seal this Twenty-six day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety five--- Signed Sealed and Delivered In the presence of Wm Beck Junr William Beck {Seal} Henry Goodman State of No Carolina} April Term 1797 Duplin County} Then was the within acknowledged In Open Court and ordered to be Registered.
