William Allen To Robert Dickson Deed 11 September 1784

(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 125, & 126 William Allen To Robert Dickson Deed for 300 acres lands This indenture made this eleventh day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four between William Allen of the County of Duplin & State of North Carolina of the one part and Robert Dickson of the County of Duplin and State of North Carolina of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Allen for the consideration of the sum of thirty pounds good and lawful money to him in hand paid before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof the said William Allen doth hereby acknowledge, that by these presents given granted bargained sold assigned & set over to the said Robert Dickson his heirs and assigns forever, one certain tract of parcel of land situate lying and being in Duplin County aforesaid on both side of a branch of Island Creek known by the name of Cook's Creek runing up near the main road including the plantation house and improvements, whereon he the said William Allen now lives, containing three hundred acres by pattent. To have and to hold the aforesaid land & premises above mentioned with all the appertenances & premises belonging or in any wise appertaining of every kind or nature whatsoever, and he the said William Allen the aforesaid land and premises, to him the said Robert Dickson his heirs & assigns shall and will warrent forever defend from & against him the said William Allen his heirs and assigns, as also from & against the claims of all persons whatsoever, who may hereafter lay any claim to the same by from or under him the said William Allen, and the said Robert Dickson the aforesaid land and premises shall and may have hold use occupy and possess as his own free and lawfull inheritance in as full and ample a manner as he the said William Allen is now possessed of. In witness whereof the said William Allen hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day and date above written. William Allen Signed sealed & delivered in the presence of us Cader Harrill John Dickson State of No. Carolina, Duplin County, January Court 1785.
