William Hunter To Stephen Brown Deed 20 August 1808

Deed Book 4A, pp19-20) William Hunter To Stephen Brown __?__ This Indenture made this 20th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight between William Hunter Sen’r and Stephen Brown Jun’r both of the County of Duplin and State of North Carolina. Witnesseth that the said William Hunter hath for and in consideration of the Sum of one hundred & seventy dollars lawful money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said Stephen Brown, the receipt for which is hereby acknowledged granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed conveyed & forever confirmed, & doth by these presents Page 20. grant bargain sell alien enfeoff convey & forever confirm unto the said Stephen Brown his heirs and assigns two certain pieces tracts or parcels of land, situate lying & being in the County of Duplin aforesaid, viz one piece beginning at a gum on the South of the Cedar prong of Muddy Creek on the _?_, thence the old patent line to a post, the _?_, thence West 200 poles to whit Oak an other _?_, thence with the old patent line north to a Stake on the run of the Creek, thence up the run to the first station, containing by estimation one hundred acres the same more or less, being part of a tract of two hundred acres granted to James Whaley by patent bearing date the 16th of November 1790 one other piece or tract adjoining above, Beginning at a stake the _?_ _?_ of the above patent of 300 acres & now thence with the line thereof W 30 poles to a pine Stephen Hancocks corner, thence Hancocks line S 35 E 12 poles to the Big branch, thence up the said branch to Hancocks line, thence with Hancocks line s 34 W 30 poles to his corner a pine thence his other line N 46 W 160 poles to a pine his other corner - thence Hillery Brinson’s line to the beginning, containing by estimation sixty acres be the same more or less, granted to said William Hunter by patent bearing date the 29th September 1803, all which lands & premises warrants hereditaments & appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining, the said William Hunter doth for himself his heirs executors, administrators warrant & forever defend by these presents to the siad Stephen Brown his heirs & assigns, to have & to hold occupy possess & enjoy to his or their only use benefit and behoof free and clear from the just or lawful claim or him the said William Hunter his heirs executors and administrators & every other person or persons whatever.
