William Hunter to Nathaniel Wells 10 April 1792

Deed Book F, pp170-1) William Hunter to Nathaniel Wells 50 acres This indenture made this 10th day of April one thousand seventeen hundred ninety two between Wm Hunter of the County of Duplin & State of N. Carolina of the one part & Nathaniel Wells of the County & State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Hunter for & in consideration of the sum of Twenty pounds good & lawful money to him in paid or secured to be paid before the sealing & delivery hereof the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge & himself therewith fully content & paid hath given granted & bargained & sold & by these presents doth give grant bargain & sell unto the said Nathaniel Wells his heirs & assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of Land lying & being in the County of Duplin containing fifty acres on the W. side of the N. E. river including Persimmon Swamp. Beginning at a white oak his own line corner S. side the swamp thence as his own line E55 W 70 poles to a pine Lochart’s corner patented by John Rutherford thence down the swamp as said line E67 S 180 poles to a Black Jack thence acrossing the said Swamp N 23 W 64 poles to a stake thence up the N side S 67 W 116 poles to a stake thence to the beginning. To have & to hold the aforesaid Fifty acres of land with the appurtenances & all rights & privileges & improvements to the same in any wise belonging to him the said Nathaniel Wells his heirs & assigns forever. And the said Wm Hunter doth for himself his heirs & assigns hereby covenant & agree to & with the said Nathaniel Wells that he the s’d Nathaniel Wells that he the s’d Nathaniel Wells his heirs & assigns shall & may forever hereafter peaceably equably have hold occupy possess & enjoy Page. The aforesaid granted land & premises without the let or intestation of any person whatsoever free & clear from ill & all manner of encumbrances whatsoever and he the said William Hunter doth oblige himself his heirs executors & adm’r to warrant & defend the aforesaid granted land & premises to him the said Nathaniel Wells his heirs & assigns forever against the lawful claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof the said William Hunter hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day & year above written.
