William Hunter To John Flemming Deed 15 November 1796

Deed Book N, pp11-2) William Hunter } - Deed 43 Acres &c John Flemming } This Indenture made the 15th day of November in the 21st year Of American Independence and in the year of our Lord Christ 1796 between William Hunter of the State of N. Carolina & County of Duplin of the one part and John Flemming of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Hunter for divers good causes and consideration, here there unto moving but more especially for the valuable consideration of the sum of fifty Pounds current money of the State aforesaid to him in hand paid by John Flemming aforesaid the Road whereof is hereby acknowledged hath by these presents granted bargained sold assigned and set over to the said John Flemming his heirs and assigns forever two small parcels of land in Duplin County lying in Ash Branch a piece of the grove Swamp and is bounded as follows and beginning at a gum in the Long Branch to a white oak thence his line W1 7 W 64 poles Page. to a pine. Thence his line N34 W 22 pole to a drain down the said Drain a course nearly S 65 W 26 poles to a Water oak at the Marsh in Ashe Branch thence down the various courses of Ashe Branch with Arthur Boyets line about 124 pole to the Mouth of the Run of the log branch thence up the run of the log branch with Benjamin Birts line to the first Station. Containing 30 acres be the same more or less also thirteen acres of Land a late or new Survey lying on both sides of the Log branch Joining above the same and is bounded as follows on the East by John Flemmings land on one the West by Ephraim Boyets land according to its courses to have and to hold the said Land and premises to him the said John Flemming his heirs & assigns forever and the said William Hunter for himself and his heirs the aforesaid Land & premises to him the said John Flemming his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and Defend from the lawfull claim of all persons whatsoever. In witness where of the Said William Hunter hath hereunto set his hand and seal the date above Witten signed seald } and delivered in presents of } James Dickson } his William Meges } William H Hunter {seal} mark State of N Carolina } Duplin County - } July Term 1798 Then was the within Deed proved in open Court by the Oath of William Meges and ordered to be Registered Jas Dickson Regr } Test Wm Dickson C.
