William Hunter to Isaac Hunter
This Indenture made the 23rd day of May in the Year of Our lord Christ One thousand Seven
hundred and seventy Eight 1778 Between William Hunter of the State of North Carolina and
County of Duplin of the One part and Isaac Hunter of the same place of the same place of
the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Hunter for Divers good Causes and
Considerations him thereunto him moveing But more Especially for the Consideration of the
sum of one Hundred and Ninety Pounds Current money of this State to him in hand well and
truly paid By Isaac Hunter aforesaid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents
the Receipt whereof he the said William Hunter doth hereby acknowledge himself to be
therewith fully Satisfied Contented and paid and of Every part and parcel thereof doth
hereby acquit and discharge the said Isaac Hunter his heirs and assigns forever and hath
by these presents given granted Bargained said Confirmed to the said Isaac Hunter aforesaid
One Certain tract or parcel of land Situate lying and Being in the State aforesaid and
County of Duplin On the West side of the North East River and North side of the Grove swamp
Beginning at a Water Oak On the Run of the grove swamp Running thence North 37 West 60 poles
to a Black Oak On the Edge of a branch thence up the same North 310 poles to a Black Oak
thence South 50 West 74 poles to a Water Oak thence South 70o West 140 poles to a pine thence
North 70 West 140 poles to a hickory thence South 70 13 west 38 poles to an

To an ash on the Run of the swamp thence down the Various Courses thereof to the first Station
Containing by survey Two hundred acres of land as appears By a deed of Conveyance from Henry
Eustace McColloh to Isaac Hunter Bearing date the Eight day of October 1766 and after by a deed
of conveyance from Isaac Hunter to William Hunter Bearing date the 12th day of February To Have
and to Hold the above Bargained land and premises With use the appurtenances to the same
Belonging or in wise appertaining of any Nature or Kind Whatsoever of him the said Isaac Hunter
his heirs and assigns forever against him the said William Hunter his trust and assigns as also
from and against the Inst. And Certain claim of any other person or persons who hereafter
lawfully levy claim to the said In witness whereof I the said
