Know ye that we have granted to William Hines one hundred acres of land in Duplin County
on the Northside of Goshen swamp on the branches of Herrings Mill Swamp, including his
improvements joining land patented by George Outlaw. Possessed by Benjamin Smipes.
Begining at a gum in a branch on said line. Thence as it No. 60 West 46 poles to a pine
his corner. Thence as the jury divided within one chain of John Sulivents fence No. 28 East
52 poles to a stake as his field to the other side and past North Sixty west one hundred and
twenty poles to a pine & white oak. Thence No. thirty East 80 poles to a pine. Thence South
60 Et. 154 poles to a gum. Thence down the run to the begining. To Hold unto the said
William Hines his Heirs and assigns forever. Dated the first day of April 1780.
