Stephen Williams To William Barnes
This Indenture made Between Stephen
Williams of Onslow County and province of North Carolina Planter of the
one part and William Barnes of the County of Duplin and province of
aforesaid Planter on the other part. Witnesseth that the said Stephen
Williams for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty Five pounds
proclamation money to him in hand paid by the said William Barnes the
Receipt Whereof I the said Stephen Williams doth hereby confess and
acknowledge that I the said Stephen Williams hath granted Bargained
and sold unto the said
William Barnes to his Heirs and assigns
Forever one parcel of land containing Two hundred and fifty acres more
or less Beginning at the mouth of the Dividing Branch that Divided
Stephen Williams and Benjamin Williams lands thence up the said Branch
to a pine thence along a row of marked trees to the Back line to a Corner
thence along the Back line to a corner pine thence along a row of Marked
trees to Burncoat then up to a corner white oak then down the said swamp
to the Beginning Being part of the land taken up By Anthony Williams Patent
Bearing date the Twenty fifth day of September anno domini one thousand
seven hundred and forty three 1743 the said land Being in Duplin County and
made over By a Deed from Stephen Williams

Stephen Williams to William Barns it lying on the South Side of Burncoat in
Duplin County the said William Barnes him his Heirs Executor Administrator
and assigns forever to Have and to Hold each and Singular every part and
parcel thereof to their only proper use and Behoof without any interruption
of the said
Stephen Williams Him His Heirs
Executors administrators or assigns or any other Person What so Ever or the
said William Barnes paying to his majesty and his Sovereign the yearly Reserves
Quit Rents of four shillings & proclamation money per Hundred acres as in the
Batton is Reserved and Furthermore that I the said Stephen Williams him his heirs
and assigns hath made the Same Clearly of all other Bargains sales leases gifts
grants mortgages Iayntures deliveries entails Rents arnarages of Rents and of an
other Bargains and incumbrances Whatsoever had made done or committed By the said
Stephen Williams or any other person Whatsoever Claiming or to claim and further
that the said Stephen
Williams and His Heirs and all other
Persons Whatsoever and his or their any thing Hereof from time to time and at all
times hereafter Warrant and defend the above Bargained premises to the said William
Barnes and to his heirs and assigns Forever to their only proper use & Behoof.
In Witness whereof I the said Stephen
Williams hath hereunto affixed his seal and Set his Hand this January the ninth 9th
day One thousand Seven Hundred and sixty two 1762.
