William Hunter Division of Land Report 21 February 1834

(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Book 1-5-10-14-15 Page 164 Report of Committee to divide lands of Wm. Hunter decd. Persuant of an order of the worshipful Court of Duplin County at Nov. Term 1833 to us directed to divide the land of Wm. Hunter Senr. between his lawful heirs & report the same to next court I John Farrior to survey the same we the committee have divided the afore said land as follows: 1st peace begining at the upper landing at Chinquapin & runs as the road N. 39 E. 9 poles to a stake then N. 72 W. about 122 poles to a water oak on the bank of Muddy Creek then down the Creek & river as they meander to the begining containing by estimation 19 acres which lot Edw. Hunter drawed. Second lot begining at a water oak on the bank of the creek & runs S. 72 E. about 122 poles to a stake on the road then as the road N. 39 E. 14 poles to a stake at the branch then N. 49 W. about 14 poles to a stake on the Creek then down Creek as it meanders to the begining containing 31acres be the same more or less which lot John Hunter drawed. Third lot begining at a stake on the Creek & runs S. 49 E. about 140 poles to a stake at the road thence the road N. 39 E. 19 poles to the fork of the road then N. 26 W. about 160 poles to a stake on the back line then as the back line & creek to the begining containing by estimation 43 acres be the same more or less which lot the Heirs of William Hunter Jr. decd. drawed. Third lot begining at a stake on the creek & runs S. 49 E. about 140 poles to a stake at the road thence the road N. 39 E. 19 poles to the fork of the road then N. 26 W. about 160 poles to a stake on the back line. Thence as the back line & creek to the begining containing by estimation 43 acres be the same more or less, which lot the Heirs of William Hunter Jr. drawed. Fourth peace begining at a stake on the back line & runs S. 26 E. about 160 poles to the road at the fork then as the road N. 78 E. 26 poles to a stake then N. 22 to about 146 poles to a stake on the back line then as the back line to the begining containing by estimation 21 acres more or less which lot Martin Manning drawed. Fifth peace begining at a stake on the back line & runs S. 22 E. about 146 poles to a stake on the road then as the road N. 78 E. 66 poles to a stump then N. 4 E. about 90 poles to the back line then that line to the begining containing by estimation 66 acres be the same more or less wh. lot Nic Hunter drawed. Sixth peace begining at a stake on the back line & runs S. 4 W. about 90 poles to a stump on the road then as the road N. 78 E. 28 poles to the old corner then as the old line N. 46 E. 88 poles to the old corner containing by estimation 17 acres be the same more or less which lot Wright Hunter drawed. The above is summitted to by we the committee agree able to order Feby. 21st day 1834. Jno. Farrior Surveyor charges $5 tax the same as the Bill of Cost State of North Carolina Duplin County. February term of the County Court 1834 the within Report is returned & confirmed & ordered by the Court to be registered. Test Jas Dickson Clk. Copy N.
