(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 324, & 325 Wembirk Boney To Adonijah Garrison Deed for 20 acres lands This indenture made the twentieth day of September in the eleventh year of American Independence & in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and eighty Between Wemberk Boney of the State of No. Carolina & County of Duplin of the one part, & Adonijah Garrison of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Wimberk Boney for & in consideration of the sum of twenty shillings current money of the State aforesaid to him in hand well and truly paid or secured to be paid by Adonijah Garrison aforesaid before the ensealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acnolwedged, hath by these presents given granted bargained & sold assigned & set over to the said Adonijah Garrison his heirs and assigns forever, the following lot or parcel of land, situate lying & being in Duplin County aforesaid, on the north side of Island Creek, being part of a tract of four hundred acres granted by patent to the said Wimberk Boney. Begining at a red oak John Cook's corner on the edge of Island Creek, at the lower corner of John Merchant's plantation, thence runing down the creek swamp So. 85 Et. 42 poles to a red oak thence No. 80 poles to a lobloly bay in the pocoson, thence Wt. 38 poles to a stake on John Cook's line, thence along Cooks old line to the begining, containing in the whole twenty acres, be the same more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid land and premises with all the appertenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining of every nature or kind whatever, free from all incumbrances whatever given granted or done by him the said Wimberk Boney or any other person or persons whatever by from or under him & the said Adonijah Garrison the aforesaid & premises, shall and may have hold use occupie enjoy possess as his own free and lawfull inheritance etc. & the said Wemberk Boney the aforesaid land and premises shall and will warrant & forever defend to him the said Adonijah Garrison his heirs and assigns forever from & against the said Wemberk Boney his heirs & assigns or any other person whatever, claiming by from or under him the said Wimberk Boney. In witness whereof the said Wemberk Boney hath hereunto set his hand & seal at Duplin the date above written. Wemberk Boney Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of us. Robert Dickson James Evans State of No. Carolina Duplin County October Court 1786. Then was the within deed proved in open Court by the oath of James Evans & ordered to be registered. Test W.
