(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 480, & 481 Warren Blount & Wife To Cullen Connerly Bill of sale for one negro State of No. Carolina Duplin County. To all to whom these presents may come Know ye that we Warren Blount & Annis Blount both of the State & County aforesaid, for and in consideration of the sum of eighty pounds current money of the State of North Carolina to us in hand paid, have jointly bargained sold & delivered unto Cullen Connerly of the County & State aforesaid one negroe girl named Esther about seven years old, which negro girl we do by these presents warrant & defend unto the said Cullen Connerly his heirs or assigns from the lawfull claim right or title of any person or persons whatever, as witness our hands & seals this 22nd day of September 1786. Warren Blount Annie Blount Signed sealed & delivered in the presents of us Robert Byrd John Caleb State of No. Carolina Duplin County January Term 1788. Then was the within deed proved in open Court by the oath of John McCaleb & ordered to be registered. Test W. Dickson, C. C.
