(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 55 & 56 Thomas Worley To Anth'y Miller Deed of 2 pieces of lands This indenture made this nineteenth day fo February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four, between Thomas Worley of the County of Onslow in the province of North Carolina of the one part and Anthony Miller of the County of Duplin and province aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that he the said Thomas Worley for and in consideration of the sum of fore hundred pounds specie to him in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these presents by the said Anthony Miller the receipt wherof he the said Thomas Worley doth hereby acknowledge himself fully contented staisfied & paid and by these presents have given granted bargained and sold unto Anthony Miller of the County & province aforesaid his heirs and assigns forever a tract of parcel of land containing of five hundred and seventy acres of lant let the same be more or less lying & being in Duplin County and on the Et. side of the North Et. River. Begining at a pine Thomas Worley's & Loften Worley's dividing corner standing in the mouth of a small branch on the main swamp above the field, thence a strate line to the ford of Londam at the main road, thence up the road to a poplar in the bottom, then down the bottom to the main branch, then up the said branch to the back line, then by and with the back line to a pine, then along John Mefsons old line to the corner, thence with his line to a poplar edge of the swamp, then up the survey to a sprouse a dividing corner between Thomas Worley and John Weeding, thence along a line of marked trees to the Riverbank to a water oak, then the various courses of the river to a water oak at the mouth of the lower run of Goshen then with a shale line Et. to a black gun, thence with a line to the begining a pine also snother small survey joining the old line. Begining at a pine then So. 65 Et. 80 pole to a pine then No. 25 Et. 80 pole to a pine, thenc No. 20 Wt. 80 pole to a pine in the old line, and him the said Thomas Worley for himself his heirs executors administrators & assigns the above bargained land and premises, doth fully & freely absolutely give and grant unto him the said Anthony Miller his heirs executors administrators & assigns forever freely & clear and freely & clearly to have hold and occupy possess & enjoy free from all former gifts grants leases mortgages judgements intails or any other incumbrances whatever and he the said Thomas Worley above granted unto the said Anthony Miller by these presents may from time and at all times after delivery of these presents use occupy & enjoy as his or their own right of inheritance of an indefeasable estate in fee simple free from all manner of hindrances or molestation from the said Thomas Worley for himself his heirs executprs administratiors or assigns doth covenant and agree to make and execute any further convey and in conveyances which the said Thomas Worley his heirs executors administrators assigns by the advice of his or their council learned in the law may devise of require for the further securing the said land he or they being at the expence of the same, and the said Thomas Worley his heirs executors administrators all & singular the above bargained premises will warrant & forever defend against the lawfull claim of any person or persons whatsoever assessments or taxex excepted. In witness whereof the said Thomas Worley hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this day and year above written. Thos. Worley Signed sealed & delivered in the presence of us Loftis Worley Anthony Jones John Woodward State of No. Carolina, Duplin County, July Court 1784.
