Thomas Wright Shff To James Gillespie
Bill of sale for 5 negroes
For and in consideration of three hundred & sixty six pounds ten shillings secured
to be paid to Wiliam Lord formerly of Brunswick County deceased, by James Gillespie of
Duplin County Esqr. I do hereby bargain sell & deliver unto the said James Gillespie the
following negroes the property of the estat of the Wm. Lord deceasd. Viz. Kate Mariah Sarah
Peggy & Hannah, which were by me sold at vendue by directions of the said Executors & as far
as I an authorised to warrant the same negroes to the said James Gillespie & his heirs &c.
by virtue of the said sale. Witness my hand this 17th day of December 1787.

Then was the within Bill of sale proved in open Court by the oath of Samuel Houston & ordered
to be registered.
