(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 355, 356, & 357 Thomas Routledge To Samuel Page Deed 200 Acres This Indenture made this twentieth day of March one thousand and ninety one. Between Thomas Routledge Esquire of the State of No. Carolina and County of Duplin of the one part and Samuel Page of the County aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Thomas Routledge Esquire for the valuable sum of fifty pounds to him in paid before the Ensealing and Delivering hereof the Receipt where of he doth acknowledge himself therewith to be fully satisfied Contented and paid and herefrom doth hereby acquit and Discharge the aforesaid Samuel his heirs Excutors administrators and assigns hath bargained sold Enfroffed conveyed and confirmed and by these presents for himself his heirs Executors administrators hath and doth fully freely and absolutely Bargain sell and forever Confirm unto the said Samuel Page his heirs and assigns a certain Tract or parcel of Land Containing two hundred acres more or Less lying and being in the County aforesaid on the No. side of Mathews Branch Joining Solomon Carters and Moses Standleys line Including William Bowrns Improvements. Beginning at a Poplar Carters Corner in the mouth of Juniper branch and Runs thence with Carters line Et. 115 poles to a pine on Standleys line thence with his line No. 180 poles to a stake thence Wt. 192 poles to a stake on Elisha Bowns line thence So. 104 poles to a blackjack thence to the Beginning—To have and to hold the said two hundred acres of Land and premises with the appurtainances unto the said Samuel Page his heirs Executors and administrators forever in as full ample a manner to all Intents and purposes as he the said Thomas Routledge did might or Could have held the same before the making hereof and the said Thomas Routledge Esr. doth hereby Promise and Engage forhimself his heirs Executors and administrators that at the time of Sealing and Delivering hereof he the said Thomas Routledge is and stands seized of the said Land and premises and hath in himself good and just Rightfull power and Lawfull Authority to Grant bargain sell and forever Confirm the said Lands and premises with the appurtainances unto the sd. Samuel Page his heirs & assigns by power and virtue hereof may and shall Enter into have hold use occupy possess and Enjoy the said two hundred acres of Land free and Clear from the Lawfull Claim of all persons whatsoever and from all other or former gifts grants bargains sails Infeoffments wills Intails Jointers Dowers Executions Extents and Incumbrances whatsoever the Taxes only Excepted—In witness whereof the said Thomas Routledge hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written.
