Thomas Picket To John Parker

Deed for 500 acres lands

	This indenture made the sixth day of November 1786 between Thomas Picket of New Hanover 
County & State of No. Carolina send greeting.  Know ye that I Thomas Picket for & in 
consideration of fifty pounds specie to me in hand paid befor the ensealing & delivery hereof 
unto John Parker of the County of Duplin & State aforesaid have bargained sold & conveyed 
enfeoffed & assigned set over unto John Parker a certain tract or parcel of land being on a 
Branch of Cypress Creek in Duplin County joining William Pickets plantation line, & James 
Murrow's plantation line, containing by estimation fifty acres be the same more or less, being 
Susanah Hook's part of her fathers land divided by the run of the said branch, her sister Ruth 
having the other half of her fathers land.  To have and to hold the said land with all edifices 
profits previledges to the same belonging or other wise appertaining to him the said John Parker 
his heris and assigns forever & that the said Thomas Picket at the ensealing & delivery of 
these presents, hath a good right and lawfull authority to bargain & sell in manner as above 
said unto John Parker his heirs & assigns forever, the said Thomas Picket for himself his heirs
executors administrators, doth further promise & that the said land & premises is free & clear 
from the lawfull clames challenges dowries or demands of any person or persons whatsoever & the 
same will warrant secure and defend unto the said John Parker his heirs & assigns forever.  In 
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal the date above mentioned.

State of No. Carolina Duplin County January Term 1787.
Then was the within deed proved in open Court by the oath of James Picket & ordered 
to be registered.
