Thomas Green To John Willson
Deed for 34 1/2 acres lands
This indenture made this seventh day of April in the eleventh year of our
Independence & in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & eighty seven.
Between Thomas Green of the State of No. Carolina & County of Duplin of the one part,
& John Willson of the aforesaid State of the other part witnesseth, that the said
Thomas Green for and in consideration of the sum of seven pounds specie to him in
hand paid by John Willson aforesaid before the ensealing & delivery of these presents,
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath by these presents given granted
bargained sold assigned & set over to the said John Willson his heir & assigns forever,
all that tract or parcel of land cituate lying & being in Duplin County aforesaid
on the north side of Rockfish Creek including the improvements whereon John Willson's
plantation lyes. Begining at a red oak near the swamp on Thomas Green's line, runing
thence No. 24 Et. 106 pole to a pine, thence So. 70 Wt. 134 poles to a large red oak
in John Willson's field near the swamp thence So. 38 Et. 93 pole to the first station,
containing thirty four & a half acres in the whole, be the same more or less. Being
part of a survey of 82 acres gran ted to Thomas Green bearing date the 1st of April
1780. To have and to hold the aforesaid land & premises with all and singular the
houses buildings & all other improvements of whatsoever nature or kind on the premises,
also all the advantages & benefits to the said land belonging or in any wise appertaining
unto the said John Willson his heirs forever, & the said Thomas Green do by these
presents for him his heirs & assigns in manner and form following (that is to say)
that the said John Willson his heirs & assigns shall and may from time to time & at all
times hereafter quietly & peacibly hold occupie possiss & enjoy the prebargained land
and premises & every part & parcel thereof free & cler of & from all manner of
incumbrance whatever had made or done by the said Thomas Green & furthermore the said
Thomas Green doth by these presents for himself his heirs and assigns do promise grant
and agree to & with the said John Willson his heirs & assigns, the prebargained premises
with every the appurtenances thereunto belonging from the lawfull claim or demand of
any person or persons whatsoever, the said Thomas Green doth & will warrant & forever
defend by these presents. In witness whereof he hath hereunto set his hand & seal the
day & year first above written.
