Stephen Williams To Abraham Andrews
Deed for 50 acres lands
This indenture made this thirty first day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven
hundred and eighty four, between Stephen Williams of the County of Duplin and State of No.
Carolina of the one part, and Abraham Andrews of the same County & State aforesaid of the other
part. Witnesseth that the said Stephen Williams for divers good causes and considerations him
thereunto moving, but more especially for the valluable sum of fifty pounds specie to him in
hand paid or secured to be paid before the sealing & delivery hereof the receipt whereof he
doth hereby acknowledge and himself thereunto to be fully satisfied and content, and thereof &
therefrom doth hereby acquit the aforesaid Abraham Andrews his heirs executors administrators
and assigns hath bargained sold enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed and doth by these presents for
himself his heirs executors and administrators hath and doth fully freely & absolutely bargain
sell enfeoffe convey & confirm unto the said Abraham Andrews his heirs and assigns, one certain
tract or parcel of land containing by estimation fifty acres be the same more or less, situate
lying on a Branch of Muddy Creek joining plantation he lives on. Begining at a pine by his
upper corner & runs up the branch No. 70 Et. 90 poles to small pine, thence So. 20 Et. 90 poles
to a small pine, thence So. 70 Wt. 90 poles to his own line thence along his line to the begining,
it being a survey of land granted to Richard Williams by a patent bearing date the thirtieth day
of October 1765. To have and to hold the said fifty acres of land and premises with the
appurtenances unto the said Abraham Andrews his heirs and assigns forever, in as full and ample
manner to all intents and purposes as he the said Stephen Williams did might or could have held
the same before the making hereof, and the said Stephen Williams doth hereby promise for himself
his executors and administrators that at the time of sealing and delivery hereof is and stands
seized of the said land and premises of an indefeazable estate of inheritance in fee simple, and
hath on himself good right full power and lawfull authority to grant bargain sell convey and
forever confirm the said land and premises and every part and parcel thereof with their and
every of other appurtenances unto the said Abraham Andrews his heirs and assigns & that from
time to time and at all times forever hereafter he the said Abraham Andrews his heirs and assigns
by power and virtue hereof may & shall enter into have hold use occupy possess & forever enjoy
the said fifty acres of land free and clear and freely & clearly acquitted discharged saved kept
harless & indemnified of & from all former or other gifts grants bargains sales enfeoffements
wills intails joyntures dowers executors entents & incumbrances whatsoever, moreover the said
Stephen Williams doth for himself his heirs executors and administrators do promise & engage
that at any time hereafter at the reasonable request of him the said Abraham Andrews his heirs
or assigns or at his or their cost and charges in the law make or cause to be made & duly
executred any farther or other deed or instruments of writing for the same making a title of
the said land and premises to him the said Abraham Andrews his heirs and assigns forever, as he
the said Abraham Andrews his heirs or assigns or his or their council learned in the law shall
advise devise or require and furthermore the said Stephen Williams doth covenant and agree for
himself his heirs executors and administrators to and with the said Abraham Andrews hie heirs
and assigns, to warrent and forever defent the title of the said fifty acres of land to him the
said Abraham Andrews his heirs or assigns, free from the lawfull clame of him the said Stephen
Williams his heirs Exrs. or administrators or any other person or persons whatsoever. In
witness whereof the said Stephen Williams hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day and year
first above written.
