Stephen Wallis To Harper Williams
Bill of Sale for Negro Adam
State of North Carolina Duplin County
Know all men by these presents that I Stephen Wallis of the above mention place for
and inconsideration of the sum of Five dollars to me in hand paid the receipt of which
is here by acknowledged hath granted bargined sold & delivered unto an bhy these
presents do grant bargain sell & deliver unto Harper Williams a certain negro Boy
named Adam of the age of nineteen years or there about to have and to hold the said
bargain Boy Adam to the said Harper Williams and his heirs forever and I the said Stephen
Wallas for my self & my heirs do forever warrent & defend the Title of the aforesaid Boy
Adam to the said Harper Williams & his heirs free from Incumberances & from & against the
claim of any person Whatsoever
