Stephen Herring To William Chesnut
Deed 122 Acres
This Indenture made this 18th day of July 1839 between Stephen Herring of the County
of Duplin and State of North Carolina of the one part and William Chesnut of the same
County and State of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum
of Two Hundred Dollars to him in hand paid the said Stephen Herring hath bargained sold
and does hereby make over to the said William Chestnut a certain tract or parcil of land
lying in the County and State aforesaid Begining at a White Oak on the run of the Mill
Branch and runing So 55 Et 326 poles to a pine thence south 85 west 124 poles to a stake
on the main Road thence No 25 west 245 poles to a black to a B Gum thence south 83 Et 44
poles to the Run of Elder Branch and corner of a water oak thence up thnce up the run of
Elder Branch to the mouth of the mill Branch thence up the run of the mill to the Begining
containing one hundred and Twenty two be the same more or Less In testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and date above written signed sealed and
delivered in the presence of
