(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 192, & 193 Solomon Beesly To Peter Carleton Deed 106 acres This Indenture made the twentieth Day of January in the thirteenth year of American Independence and in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven Hundred and Eighty nine. Between Solomon Beesly of the state of No. Carolina and County of Dupl;in of the one part and Peter Carleton of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Solomon Beesly for Divers good causes and considerations him thereunto moving but more especially for the valuable consideration of the sum of fifty five pounds current money of the state of No.l Carolina to him in hand well & truly paid or secured to be paid by Peter Carleton aforesaid before the ensealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof he the said Solomon Beesly doth hereby acknowledge to be therewith fully satisfied contented and paid hath by these presents granted bargained sold assigned and set over to the said Peter Carleton his heirs and assigns forever one certain Tract of parcel of Land situate lying and being in Duplin County aforesaid on both sides of Maxwell swamp Including the House and Plantation whereon Thomas Beesly now lives on Begining at a pine at the Run of Reedy Meadow and Runs thence with James Dicksons line No. 20 Wt. 76 poles to a blackjack his corner thence his line So. 76 Wt. 56 poles to a fum in a small branch thence as the branch Meanders to the edge of Maxwell swamp to a maple thence across the swamp with James Dicksons line to a pole his corner thence said Solomon Beesly Line to his corner thence his other line to the Run of Maxwell Creek thence Down the same as it meanders to the Mouth of Reedy Meadow thence up Reedy meadow Run as it meanders to the first station Containing in the whole one hundred and six acres be the same more Less. To have and to hold the aforesaid Land and premises with all the appurtainances to the same belonging or in anywise appurtaining to him the said Peter Carleton His Heirs and assigns forever free from all Incumberances whatsoever given granted Done by him the said Solomon Beesley or any other person or persons by from or under him and the said Solomon Beesley the aforesaid Land and premises with all the appirtonances thereto belonging shall and will warrent and forever defend to him the said Peter Carleton his Heirs and assigns foever from and against him the said Solomon Beesley his Heirs and assigns as also from and against the just and Lawful Calime of any other person whatsoever who may hereafter Lay any Lawful claime to the same. In Witness whereof the said Solomon Beesley hath hereunto set his hand & seal the date above written. signed sealed & delivered in the presence of us Solomon Beesley Joseph Dickson Anne Dickson State of No. Carolina Duplin County April Term 1791 Then was the within deed proved in open Court by the oath of Joseph Dickson and ordered to be registered.
