(Transcribed by Carolyn Shank) Sarah Moody to William Calvin Moody Deed for Land 25 Acres State of North Carolina Duplin County Know ye all men by these presents, that I Sarah Moody for good Will, natural affection, as well as for many other good causes, I Give and bequeath to William Calvin Moody one certain tract of land Containing 25 acres lying on Burnt Coat. Beginning at a black jack Her corner on the east side of Cow hole and runs with her line 50 West a 180 poles to 3 whiteoaks, her other corner, thence South 60 East 18 poles to a pine on Burnt Coat. Maynor's and Lawson's corner Thence with Maynor's line N55 East 180 poles to a stake his corner in A marsh and thence to bridge; and I the said Sarah Moody do this Presents warrant the right and title of the land to William Calvin Moody to him hisself, his heirs, or asigns to his only proper use and Benefit, clear of all judgements, exercutions in judgement whatsoever From myselfm my heirs or asigns.
