Sarah Hurst To John Clarke
Bill of Sale for negro man
State of No. Carolina Duplin County. To all to whom these presents shall come
greetin. Know ye that I Sarah Hurst of the County & State aforesaid planter, for and
in consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds specie money to me in hand paid at
an before the sealing & delivering of these presents by John Clarke of the County of
Duplin planter, have bargained and sold unto the said John Clarke his heirs & assings,
one negro slave named Seasor, about twenty five years of age, which said negro slave
Seasor I the said Sarah Hurst do by these presents, do forever warrant & defend to the
said John Clarke his heirs & assigns, against title claim & demand of all and all manner
of persons forever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & fixed my seal this
first day of September 1787.

Then was the within Bill of sale proved in open Court by the oath of William Beck & ordered
to be registered.
