(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 8, 9, 10, 11, & 12 Samuel Ward To Daniel Glisson Deed 520 acres State of No Carolina Duplin County This Indenture made the _____ day of _____ in the fourteenth year of the American Independence and in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and Ninety between Samuel Ward of the County of Duplin in the State of No Carolina of the one part, and Daniel Glisson of the same place of the other part, witnesseth that the said Samuel Ward for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty pounds current money of North Carolina to him in hand well and truly paid by the said Daniel Glisson at or before the sealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and therefore Doth release acquit and Discharge the said Daniel Glisson his Executors and Administrators by these presents the said Samuel Ward hath granted, Bargained, sold, aliened and confirmed and by these presents Doth Grant, Bargain, sell, alien and confirm unto the said Daniel Glisson and his heirs a certain piece or parcel of land situate llying and being in the County of Duplin and State of North Carolina aforesaid and is bounded as follow to wit. Begining at a pine by a pond supposed to be at Ruben Westons Corner and runs thence No 250 pole to a pine on John Parkers line at Nelly Bails's Corner thence as Parkers line So 85 Et 94 poles to a pine his corner, thence with his other line No 40 E 100 pole to a pine his corner, thence East 106 pole to a pine, near poley bridge Marsh, thence up Poley bridge branch Sp 25 East 210 pole to a pine, thence So 35 Wt to a small black gum in the side of Wolfe scrape branch, thence along John Whiteheads line No 72 Wt 260 pole to the begining containing by Estimation Five hundred and twenty acres be the same more or less, it being part of a Patent of 640 acres which was granted to John Whitehead, bearing Date the first day of July anno Dom. 1779 and since sold and conveyed by the said John Whitehead to the said Samuel Ward by a Deed in writing bearing date 23rd day of October Anno Domini 1796 Reference being there unto has may more fully appear and now by these presents sold and conveyed by the said Samuel Ward to the said Daniel Glisson in manner and form aforesaid all Houses, out Houses, buildings Improvements Wiys waters water courses Prophets commoditied Heriditaments and Appurtenances whatsoever to the premises hereby granted or part or parcel thereof belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Reversion and Reversions remainder and remainders, rents, Issues and profits thereof and also all the Estate Right, Title Interest, use Trust porperty, claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Samuel Ward of in and to the said premises and all Deed, Evidences and writings touching or in any wise concerning the same. To have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed and all and singular other the premises hereby bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said Daniel Glisson his heirs and assigns for ever to the only proper use and behooff of him the said Daniel Glisson and of his Heirs and assigns forever. And the said Samuel Ward for himself his Heirs, Executors and administrators doth covenant promise and grant, to and with the said Daniel Glisson his Heirs and assigns by these present, that the said Samuel Ward now at the time of sealing and delivering these present, is seized of a good sure perfect and indefeazeble Estate of inheritance in fee simple of and in the premises hereby bargained and sold and that he has good power and Lawful and absolute authority to grant and convey the same to the said Daniel Glisson in Manner and form aforesaid and that the said premises now are and so forever hereafter shall remain and be free and clear of and from all former gifts grants bargains sales Dower, Right or Title of dower judgements Executions Titles Troubles Charges and incumbrances whatsoever made done Commited of suffered by the said Samuel Ward or any other person or persons whatsoever, The rents and Taxes thereon here after to become due and payable to the State only Excepted and that the said Samuel Ward and his heirs all and singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said Daniel Glisson his Heirs and assigns, against him the said Samuel Ward and his Heirs, and all and every person and persons whatsoever shall warrent and forever defined by these presents. In witness whereof the said Samuel Ward, shall hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written. Signed sealed and delivered Samuel Ward in the presents of Matthew Ward Mary Dickson State of N. Carolina Duplin County April Term 1790 Then was the within deed acknowledged in open court and ordered to be Registered Test W Dickson C. C.
